frequently asked questions
What are the laws on electric bikes in Australia?
All Fatboy Bikes models have a maximum continued rated power of 250 watts at 20km/h, or 500 watts at 25km/h with a max load of 180 kgs. In the opinion of Fatboy Bikes this is inline with EPAC legislation. The continued rated power can be further limited where required by restricting the bikes speed further. Throttles are strictly for private property use and should be isolated when riding in public.
Are Fatboy Bikes legal electric bikes?

Before using this EPAC, check the applicable local laws relating to your intended use of the EPAC on roads and road related areas.
How fast can I go on a electric bike?
The electric motor should not assist the rider when travelling more than 25km/h but does not prevent the rider travelling faster with their own pedalling or going downhill. When using your ebike on private property, the bike can be unlocked to reach up to 55-60km/h.
